Politician Bon Kalindo has said he will still proceed with his planned demonstration at Chingeni Toll Gate Plaza despite government’s decision to reduce the toll gate fees.
Kalindo’s remarks come as government has finally gazetted regulations on the reduced toll plaza fees that will be effected on Wednesday, January 12, 2021.
Among others, light vehicles will now be paying K1000 while minibuses will be paying K2000.
But speaking to MIJ Online, Kalindo said the demonstrations will proceed because government did not come out clearly on whether or not motorists will be allowed to pay the tollgate fees, if they are returning on the same day.
Kalindo has since disclosed that the demonstrations which were slated for Thursday have now been shifted to Friday this week.
