President Lazarus Chakwera says he will be announcing to Malawians his new cabinet in two days-time following his decision to dissolve all ministerial roles last night.
Chakwera made the announcement during a national address from Lilongwe.
Before the announcement, Chakwera talked much on a viral audio from a conversation between Martha Chizuma, Director of the Anti-Corruption Bureau and her friend on the way corruption fight is in Malawi.
Chakwera said he has been receiving legal advice that Chizuma has gone against her oath of office and needs to face the chop.
He however said his office has decided to instead issue a serious warning to Chizuma before he described people behind the whole issue as having taken a failed course.
‘’ People who might’ve tricked Martha Chizuma to that recording better thing again if they thought I would fire her. Those people might’ve managed to undermine the fight against corruption by reaching to trick Chizuma but will not manage to reach all systems including my office. I will not move to fire her because I well know that people behind the matter want my government to give up in fighting corruption.’’ He said.
He then announced the cabinet will not include Kezzie Msukwa after the ACB handed him a report into charges Msukwa is facing over sale of land to alleged foreign traders.
