In our exclusive report this week; Georgia Mbaghugho Chirombo is discussing an ambitious regional strategy by the Southern African Development Community (SADC) aimed at promoting financial investments in form of bonds, with proceeds from the investments used to finance environmental and sustainable projects.
These Bonds commonly known as green bonds are to be issued by government agencies, corporations and global organizations at stock markets across the bloc as one way of mitigating the effects of climate change in the region.
This report is focusing on the benefits of this initiative for SADC member states including Malawi and seeking ideas from stakeholders on best implementation practices to promote a safer, cleaner and climate resilient Africa.
