High Court Judge Kennyata Nyirenda has dismissed an application by ombudsman to vacate an injunction by the Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority obtained to stop the release of an investigative report into recruitment of Henry Kachaje as chief executive officer of the energy regulator.
Nyirenda has also dismissed an application by the office of the ombudsman to discharge permission for judicial review which Mera sought.
According to Nyirenda, he finds the arguments by the office of the ombudsman that the injunction was wrongly granted by the court lacking merit and based on wrong principles.
