Greenbelt supports farmers in the Lower Shire

The Greenbelt Authority has donated 300 bags of maize to farmers of Matsukambiya in Chikwawa district as part relief items.

Greenbelt Authority, Board Chairperson, Wester Peter Kosamu says, the donation was made following the farmers’ request before, Salima Sugar Company expressed interest as a partner.

Kosamu said, this the second time as they distributed 400 bags of maize weigh 50 kilograms each to farmers of Mwananjobvu in the area of Traditional Authority Ngowe in the district.

Group village head Matsukambiya from the area of Senior Chief Ng’abu in the district thanked the Greenbelt Authority for the gesture.

Matsukambiya appealed for more support to his subjects who were badly affected by both Cyclone Tropical Ana and Gombe.
