The Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) has launched an investigation into complaints of what it describes as ‘unusually fast depletion of data’ bundles on TNM and Airtel Malawi networks.
In a statement, Mayamiko Nkoloma, Director General for MACRA said the regulator will assess the operators’ charging and billing systems, data usage records, and accuracy of deductions to determine if regulatory intervention is needed.
Consumers affected have been urged to report to MACRA by providing purchase notifications, usage alerts, screenshots, and dates of incidents.
MACRA says findings will be communicated once the investigation is concluded.
