The National Planning Commission has projected that the country will become a middle income economy by 2030.
The disclosure from Dr. Thomas Munthali director general for the commission comes ahead of the launch of the first 10-year National Implementation Plan of the Vision 2063.
The plan which will cost over 15 billion US dollars to be implemented seeks to empower the citizenry to have access to 100 US dollars by 2030.
Speaking to MIJ Online, Munthali said the launch will be followed by the national development conference which is aimed at assessing the progress of agenda 2063.
In his remarks – Dr Winford Masanjala –secretary for economic planning development and public sector reforms said past lessons have shown that phase implementation of development agendas- is key to achieving the intended results.
