The Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority-Mera insists that there are enough fuel stocks in the country.
The remarks by, Fitina Khonje, Public Relations Officer for Mera follows reports of fuel scarcity in Mzuzu and some pump stations in Lilongwe.
Khonje attributed the fuel scarcity in Mzuzu to logistical challenges.
But she said the energy regulator has engaged fuel importers and some oil marketing companies that have assured Mera that they will be delivering the fuel in Mzuzu today and some tomorrow.
Earlier today, our reporter Chimango Chipeta said there was panic for fuel in Mzuzu City amidst reports that petroleum products petrol and diesel are running out.
Long queues are still being seen in the city as motorists continue to search for the commodities from one service centre to another.
