UTM party is pleading with its vocal member Bon Kalindo not to take to the streets but opt for dialogue over his planned demonstrations meant to call on the Tonse leadership to address various socio-economic challenges rocking the country.
Kalindo is due to lead demonstrations this Friday in Blantyre.
But, UTM Spokesperson, Frank Mwenefumbo has told MIJ Online that they expect Kalindo to before holding the demonstration, engage in dialogue with the leadership.
According to Mwenefumbo, the party is currently sharing the concerns that Kalindo has brought to light.
‘’This government promised jobs for the youths, where are those jobs? The youths are openly complaining. I am protesting because although my party is part of the alliance, but I feel people are struggling and that must be sorted” said Kalindo in an interview with a local television station.
But Mwenefumbo says: “We need to look for more better means that demonstrations’’.
Speaking earlier today, President Lazarus Chakwera insisted his government should be given a benefit of doubt and that people must not always criticize him as prices of goods and services have gone up across the world as well.
