A 26 – year – old woman identified as Rejoice Gama is missing in Mulanje district after she was swept by running water on Wednesday night, authorities say.
Mulanje Police spokesperson Gresham Ngwira said the vehicle which Gama was travelling in together with two men was washed away by flood waters at Chikuli Bridge along Nkando – Limbe Road.
“Following this, the three came out of the vehicle but the woman failed to swim and got washed away by the water while the two men came out of the water,” Ngwira said.
Meanwhile, a search for the missing woman, who comes from Nkhuku Village, Senior Chief Chikumbu in Mulanje, is underway.
