The Hight Court of Malawi sitting in Blantyre has this morning dropped all charges against former President Bakili Muluzi, ending a 14-year-old hearing of his corruption case.
Muluzi was answering case in relation to the alleged abuse of public funds amount to K1.7 billion.
The decision to discontinue the matter follows the issuance of a certificate of discontinuation from the Director of Public Prosecutions Masauko Chamkakala.
Speaking to MIJ Online, Tamando Tchokhotho lawyer representing Muluzi says he is happy with the judgement.
Meanwhile, Clement Mwala lawyer representing ACB says the body isn’t against the judgement as it’s in accordance with the laws.
