After releasing the biographies of Lucius Banda and Billy Kaunda, Wonderful Mkhutche is set to publish another biography on the life of the late Grace Chinga.
The late Grace Chinga’s book is scheduled to be launched on June 28th, which also happens to be the day Grace was born.
Chinga was born on 28 June 1978.
According to Mkhutche, the book will recount the unknown experiences of the celebrated songbird, beginning with her early years as a church choir singer, her musical career, spiritual life, and marriage.
Mkhuche also stated that he collaborated with Grace Chinga’s family, including her son Israel Chinga Moffat.
The author bemoaned the lack of reading culture among Malawians as a hindrance to book publication in the country.
Grace Chinga rose to stardom in 2004 after releasing her debut album ‘Uleke’ which had the hit song ‘Thandizo Langa’.
She died on March 16, 2016, at the age of 38, and she is still regarded as one of the greatest female gospel artists Malawi has ever produced.
Her debut album was ‘Yenda’ in 2002, followed by the album ‘Tandizo Langa’ in 2008.
The ‘Uleke’ song was released in 1998 while she was the lead singer of a church group, All Angels Choir.
The church is called Full Gospel Church.
