Betway betting company has officially opened its operations in Malawi, with a promise to deliver unrivaled experience to users and other tasks in paying back to the society.
The launch which took place at Amaryllis Hotel in Blantyre laid out a glimmer that the company which has its operations worldwide seeks to bring to Malawi.
Meanwhile, Bernard Ndau, Board Chairperson for the Malawi Gaming Board said they expect that Betway will enhance competition in the sector.
He also said the board will at all times ensure that all companies are complying with the idea of responsible gambling.
” Well as a board we are excited to have a new player in Betway. We also think this is promoting government agenda of promoting private section development, foreign direct investment and indeed of ensuring that there is employment in the country. We are very sure that by them coming to Malawi, they will create more jobs to Malawians, they will bring new innovations, ” said Ndau.
On his part, Charles Phiri, Chief Operations Officer for Betway said so far since last year when they rolled out, there has been a massive patronage on is platforms.
Phiri said the venture represents an exciting opportunity for both their company and people in Malawi, as it aims to revolutionize the betting industry and contribute to the economic growth and development of Malawi.

He said so far, the population in Malawi seems to love their sport and both internet and smartphone penetration are growing steadily in the country.
