The High Court in Blantyre is today expected to hear an application for bail pending appeal by businessperson Thomson Mpinganjira.
Judge John Chirwa is expected to hear the application after High Court Judge Dorothy Degabrielle- who convicted Mpinganjira is scheduled to travel outside.
Mpinganjira was convicted on September 10, 2021 of attempting to bribe five judges of the High Court of Malawi who sat as a Constitutional Court and presided over historic Presidential election nullification case.
However he has indicated that he will appeal his conviction and sentence.
