An 18-year-old boy glaringly cannot just say more on the pain he feels after being chopped off his private parts by thugs in Mulanje district.
Speaking to Zilipati program which airs on MIJ FM Radio, the boy we have chosen to call Moses* says he met his fate while coming from Nkando market where he manages a small business that supports his family economically when he went unconscious due to his epilepsy situation.
This, Moses says makes him have details that would appear not finer but the fact that the pain remains on him, it is still a story he can tell.
ββI was shocked to see that I was surrounded by many people including men and boys who wrapped my face including mouth with a piece of cloth before they took me to an unknown house where they removed my pair of trousers and hit me with a stone on the head that made me collapse. After some time, on the following day, I realized that I was on a bed ( Queen Elizabeth hospital) with no private, ββhe says.
But where the story has reached now?
Though Moses has told Zilipati program that he reported the matter to the police as he recognized one of the suspects, police have not yet arrested him.
Moses tells us this might be the case because the suspect is a rich man with influence around the area.
Moses says he has silently fallen victim of societal shame and that he feels the pains that he may not have a family again in this lifetime.
Until now, Officer in Charge of Mulanje police has refused to comment on the matter.
There are also suspicions that the genitals might have been taken for rituals, a stance Moses shares.
