ACB reviewing amnesty call by the Attorney General

The Anti-Corruption Bureau is reviewing a 60-day amnesty that the attorney general has given to people to surrender property people which was corruptly obtained in regards with Zunneth Sattar.

The development comes as legal experts have said the attorney general    has no legal mandate to issue the amnesty- saying it is the mandate of the ACB and director of public prosecution.

According to a statement signed by Egritta Ndala Public Relations officer of ACB the bureau has received so many inquiries on the directive   and it is reviewing the amnesty in the context if the investigations it is currently conducting on allegations against Zunneth Sattar.

Ndala said the bureau will update the public on the decision it will take on the amnesty.
