State grain trader, Agricultural Development and Marketing Corporation -Admarc has disclosed plans to import fertilizer worth 167 million Kwacha this year.
The disclosure comes as there have been calls for government to empower Admarc and the Smallholder Farmers Fertilizer Revolving Fund of Malawi to be reliable entities to procure and sell fertilizer to Malawians- in order to deal with delivery challenges affecting the Affordable Inputs Program.
Speaking to MIJ Online, General Manager of the state produce trader said they want government to issue letters of credit to Admarc to import the fertilizer.
