‘Admarc not closed’

The Agricultural Development and Marketing Corporation -ADMARC has refuted allegations that it has shut down operations due to financial issues and that staff have gone unpaid for three months, describing the claims as false and misleading.

In a press release signed by Daniel Makata, Chief Executive Officer of ADMARC said that the corporation remains fully operational with all staff working and receiving their salaries.

In terms of commodity trading, ADMARC disclosed that it is currently buying maize and other agricultural produce across its commercial markets nationwide.

“As of now, over 19,000 metric tonnes of commodities have been procured. Additionally, ADMARC has acquired new dryers to reduce post-harvest losses and improve food quality by allowing the purchase of produce with higher moisture content,” reads part of the statement.
