Airtel eases transport challenges for students in Ntchisi

Airtel Malawi donated bicycles to five students at Mpherere CDSS in Ntchisi district, a call meant to alleviate transport challenges that the students have been facing.

The donation comes as Airtel Malawi in partnership with 2 Wheels to school Project continue to support students in some selected schools countrywide with fees and bicycles.

Speaking to MIJ Online, Innocent Kanyinji, a form 4 student, who is one of the beneficiaries at the school hailed Airtel for the gesture saying that the bicycles will chiefly assist them deal with transport hiccups.

He told us that over the years, they have been covering 15 kilometres to reach the school.

On her part, Veronica Nguluwe, Assistant Manager for Corporate Social Responsibility at Airtel Malawi expressed hope that the donation will help to motivate learners so that they can continue to perform better in the class.

Speaking later, Promise Chipeta, Team member for 2 wheels to school said that apart from easing their mobility woes, other donations given such as school bags and books will encourage them to continue doing well with their studies.
