Airtel Malawi is drawing positives from its innovation which alerts people on potential scammers who usually send text messages.
Last year, Airtel introduced a system that sends warning messages known as “spam alerts” to Airtel users, alerting them about electronic scammers who steal using different tricks.
Speaking to MIJ Online, Thokozani Kankondo Sande – Airtel Money Director, said the system has played a crucial role in reducing the number of scam victims.
She highlighted that since the introduction of the system, the number of customer complaints about scammers has dropped.
She further urged customers to continue following the alerts to avoid being defrauded.
