Joy was all written for learners with disabilities at Blantyre Secondary School and Mulanje Vocation Training and Rehabilitation Centre for the Blind as Airtel Malawi donated learning materials to the Ministry of Education to be used by learners with visual impairment.
Airtel Malawi Head of Corporate Social Responsibility and Communication, Norah Chavula Chirwa, said the K15 million equipment will also benefit other institutions in Kasungu District and Ekwendeni School for the Blind and the Department of Disability.
The items include Braille writers, hand frames, stylus and embossed paper.
According to Chirwa, the support came in response to the dire need raised by the institutions and as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility.
For Chifundo Petro, a form four learner at BSS, the support has come not just a sigh of relief but also a portrayal of love by the mobile network provider.
‘’I am glad today because the resource challenges that we have been facing have come to an end. I am happy with what Airtel has done and may they extend this to others too’’ said Petro.
