CDH Investment Bank has donated 50 bags of cement to Chilobwe West community meant to contribute to community efforts to construct a slab on the road to Chilobwe that is impassable during rainy season.
Presenting the donation, CDH Investment Bank, Innovations and Projects Manager, Noel Chowawa said the bank is supporting the community’s efforts to develop their area by enhancing the road infrastructure to ensure easy access to the primary school, Stella Maris Secondary school and the Community Vocational Trading Centre.
“We believe in investing in development and applaud the community for pulling together and mobilizing resources such as quarry stones, river sand and labor for the project. We trust that our support will invigorate the community to achieve the project goals and also motivate more community partners to contribute to the cause” he said.
Chairperson for Chilobwe West Community, Mr S Chuka, thanked CDH Investment Bank for the support, which he said would contribute to the development of the road that will ease access to schools and community training centre. They also appealed to other well-wishers to follow the Banks steps and contribute to the development in the area that is not just develop Chilobwe but Malawi.
Councilor for the area, Mrs Malunga, thanked the community for coming together to construct the road and thanked than bank for assisting with the project. “Together we have the power to change Malawi,” she said.
