The Competition and Fair-Trading Commission has issued fines to businesses for unfair trading practices and uncompetitive conducts in excess of over 11 million Kwacha.
Acting Executive Director for CFTC Apoche Itimu said on its 68th meeting held in March, the commission reviewed 69 cases in which 55 were on unfair trading practices while 14 were on anti-competitive conducts by businesses.
Some of the companies which have been fined include Old Mutual, Platinum Finance Limited and Central Poultry Limited
Meanwhile Itimu has disclosed that there has been positive compliance by businesses in honoring directives made by the commission
