Malawi President Lazarus Chakwera has suspended his public engagements in order to mourn his sister Miriam who died on Sunday, a State House statement has said.
According to Anthony Kasunda, Presidential Press Secretary, the suspension is with immediate effect.
Kasunda has also said that the president will resume such engagements after the burial which will take place this Wednesday at Manase Village in Dowa district.
