A consortium of civil society organizations and Child Rights Activists has expressed dismay with overwhelming cases of child abuse in the country.
This comes as the country is on daily basis said to be recording over 30 cases of child abuse such as defilement and sexual harassment.
Speaking to MIJ Online, Memory Chisenga, member for consortium of civil society organizations and Child Rights Activists expressed concern with growing child abuse cases in the country.
According to Chisenga, the country currently has a 70 percent rating how it is fairing with the fight against rising cases of child abuse.
She has since urged authorities on the need to fast track and start giving perpetrators stiffer punishments arguing that this is the only way to tame wannabe abusers.
Chisenga further indicated that traumatic feeling that children remain with stands as a block to render a hand for the country to realize her blue print vision 2063.
Meanwhile, Chisenga has also condemned corrupt officers for letting down progress in the fight against child abuse in the country.
