Chief Resident Magistrate Court in Lilongwe has today discharged former Head of National Intelligence Service Kenam Kalilani and former State House Head of Information and Communication Technology, Chancy Chingwalungwalu after State failed to provide evidence in their case.
The two were arrested in 2020, on allegations that’s they store equipment belonging to National Intelligence Services.
Defense Lawyer, Madalitso Kausi has told MIJ, that they filed an application for discharge of the case after State failed to prosecute the case and the State did not object to their Application.
Kausi said, now the two have been freed up and their charges have been dropped
