A friend indeed they say, is a friend in need and that now is the First Capital Bank (FCB) following a donation of MK 3.5 million to Stroke Support Organization Malawi (SSO-Malawi) to assist in the fight against stroke.
Speaking during the presentations of the cheque at FCB’s Head office in Blantyre, Head of Marketing for the bank Twikale Chirwa said the bank decided to make the donation as one way of supporting the health sector and the fight against stroke and having looked at the concerns raised by the association.
“SSO-Malawi continues to do very commendable jobs in as far as of reducing the burden that stroke brings to families in Malawi is concern as such we as a bank for the people felt compelled to bring out such a support,” said Chirwa
Later, Dr. George Chimatiro, Executive Secretary for Stroke Support Organization Malawi could not hide his excitement and was quick to say the donation comes at a rightful time.
According to Chimatiro, the funds will be used to acquire buy a Public Address System (PA) which will be used during stroke awareness campaigns across the country.
