A grouping under the banner Malawi First has warned it will take to the streets in protests against the continued passport printing debacle in the country.
The grouping’s leader Bon Kalindo has made the remarks in the wake of the failure by authorities to process passports at the Immigration department.
Among other things, Kalindo said they are also seeking the resignation of Immigration head, Charlses Kalumo.
He said they will mobilizing nationwide demonstrations this Thursday to show discontent over the matter.
The passport hiccups began after Attorney General Thabo Chakaka-Nyirenda ordered the cancellation of a K103.3 billion Techno Brain contract deal in December 2021, owing to alleged poor handling of the contract.
Techno Brain is reportedly demanding about K2.8 billion from the government.
