Lands Minister Kezzie Msukwa insists he will not resign and says Malawians must wait for an order of the court in the judicial review case he commenced against his impending arrest.
His remarks follow ongoing calls for him to resign in a bid to pave way for investigations in a alleged corruption case he is facing in allocation of land to Asian traders.
According to Msukwa, he is not answering any charges as of now, which would require him to resign.
“Which investigations, are people referring to. They do not understand the order, that l am not answering any charges now because it is going for review, so what are they talking about?” questioned Msukwa when speaking to MIJ Online.
He added: “It means the people do not understand the issue because at the moment, l don’t have a case, so they should wait for an order of the court .We are a law abiding nation and we should be able to follow the laws.”
Last week, the High court gave permission to Msukwa for judicial review on the decision by the ACB to arrest him.
Today, the Youth and Society issued a statement in which they have given him seven days to resign.
