Government is negotiating a one hundred thousand metric tonnes soybean export deal with the government of Tanzania.
In a statement signed by Christina Zakeyo and Dickxie Kampani secretary for trade and secretary for Agriculture respectively, considering the large volume of soybean required, large scale producers have been asked to expressed their interest to supply the commodity for export.
The statement says as regards to domestic market, the Agricultural Development Market Corporation has been re-capitalized to buy farm produce and by the end of April 2023 some markets will be operational.
Commenting on the matter Leonard Chimwaza an Agriculturist commended government for exploring other markets for farmers with an advice of ensuring that the export market is competitive than the domestic market.
