The Malawi Revenue Authority has underscored the benefits of Msonkho online for improved efficiency in the management of tax transactions for businesses.
Wilma Chalulu, Marketing and Communications Manager for MRA-made the sentiments as the authority is set to roll out the Msonkho Online-an automated tax administration system-from 1st October.
Chalulu told MIJ FM that the Msonkho online is being implemented to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in tax compliance and taxpayer service management by improving and automating business processes in MRA.
She added that the system will assist business operators effectively manage their tax affairs which include tax registration, updating profile and submitting returns.
The authority over the weekend also engaged members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants-ICAM, on the new Agents Management Module introduced in Msonkho Online.
Making presentation at a recent ICAM indaba in Mangochi, Chalulu said the new module has benefits that include giving a facility to transact on behalf of the clients electronically and that taxpayers can manage the roles to be performed by an agent or associate.
MRA is expected to roll out Tevet Levy payment electronically from 1st October 2023.
