National Bank renders support for the Orthopedic high-profile meeting

The National Bank of Malawi has supported an imminent consultative meeting by the Malawi Orthopedic Association with MWK5 Million.

The meeting which takes place from 15th to 16th November at BICC in Lilongwe will stakeholders deliberate on issues affecting the sector and a lobby for the formulation of a policy among other things.

According to Tamara Mtuwa NBM Bank’s Service Centre Manager-Henderson Street, said the bank made the donation in full value of the intentions the meeting has.

She said the as a financial institution they have a role in ensuring that the health sector is well supported in order to have a healthy nation.

Mtuwa also reaffirmed the bank’s continued support to people faced with various injuries which she said pose a threat to the nation’s growth.

On his part, Nyengo Mkandawire, Professor of orthopedics at Kamuzu University of Heath Sciences said the resource will help them crucially in the high-profile engagement.

According to Mkandawire, authorities will also push for the establishment of health response initiatives such as city ambulances.

Orthopedics is a specialized medical field with a primary focus on the musculoskeletal system, which encapsulates muscles, bones, tendons, ligaments, and joints.
