The Public Affairs Committee (PAC) has expressed concern over frequent trips President Lazarus Chakwera is undertaking.
Gilford Matonga, General Secretary for the Committee has argued that some of the internal and international trips by President Chakwera were supposed to be delegated to other senior government officials.
He said government and office of the President should discuss on which functions the president can do and also which functions he can delegate to others.
Speaking to MIJ Online Matonga said when the president presides over the activity whether inside or outside the country, he is accompanied by a lot of delegates which needs more resources.
According to Matonga, what the president is doing is against austerity measures he introduced to control unnecessary expenditures and save public resources.
Therefore, he has advised president Chakwera to start delegating some of his activities in order to save public resources.
