Anabela Idana, an employee of the Malawi Revenue Authority is all smiles at the back of attaining knowledge and she describes it as eye-opening following a two-day training by Sycamore Consult Limited on retirement planning at Crossroads Hotel in Blantyre.
The training centered on, among other things, investments, personal development, life after pension tips and creation and management of post retirement opportunities.
According to Audrey Mwala, Managing Director for Sycamore Consult Limited, the training is part of their quest to improve their lives in a demanding era.
‘’We are engaging people to make important choices ahead of retirement. Our view has been that people are able to save company money but have challenges in saving their own resources. For retirement, this is another big issue that we seek to sort out,’’ she said.
According to Mwala, so far there has been a positive responsive from people who have undergone similar trainings.
‘’We are getting impressions that people are understanding the concept of financial independence and importance of creating parallel systems to support their lives after retiring,’’ said Mwala.
In reaction, Idana says together with over thirty other MRA workers, they have attained knowledge which will go a long way to support their livelihoods.
‘’I must admit that this has been a remarkable training for me because I have learnt a lot from Sycamore. I will utilize the knowledge when I get back to work most definitely,’’ she said.
Sycamore Consult Limited has in recent times been drilling people in various issues including leadership, investments, operational excellence and others.
