He waved his final goodbyes. Goodbyes to an experience in Malawi which he said he shall forever cherish having been placed for a new role within Old Mutual, but now in South Africa. And that is Roy Punungwe who has been Managing Director of Old Mutual Life Assurance Company.
The Zimbabwean was at the end of last week treated to a dinner at the end of his five year stay in Malawi.
The role has now been handed to Mark Mikwamba, according to the company.
Punungwe has since said he said he accumulated worthwhile experiences in Malawi which will help him as well at the role he is to take in South Africa.
Mark Mikwamba has been unveiled as Managing Director of Old Mutual Life Assurance Company (OMLAC) replacing Roy Punungwe who has been given another role within the company in South Africa.
Accoring to Old Mutual Group Chief Executuive Officer Edith Jiya, Punungwe had been instrumental in a wide of range of expansions and projects.
”Punungwe was also critical in the advancement of Actuarial Science program at the University of Malawi and has served as OMLAC Managing Director for 5 years as you are aware. His impact and management has been immense,” said Jiya.
Earlier on, in her speech Old Mutula Malawi Board Chair Innocentia Ottober said Punungwe managed to set substantial marks and that the company in Malawi is indebted to his experience.
