There are fears that over 200 needy students from various Secondary schools in Phalombe will drop out of school due to financial challenges.
George Million, Member of Parliament for Phalombe Central constituency, said this during a training organized by Centre for Social Concern aimed at helping communities to trace the management of the community development fund (CDF).
Speaking to MIJ Online, Million said the 3 million kwacha which is allocated for needy in the CDF, is not enough to cater for all students who need school fees.
For instance, million said out of the 200 students- who need school fees, its only 20 students who are on bursary.
With this, Million has asked well-wishers in the country to assist the needy students with school fees.
In his remarks Bernard Mphepo project coordinator for Centre for Social Concern said the training will help communities to hold their duty bearers accountable on the use of the CDF.
