Standards body reduces certification fees for small medium entrepreneurs by half

The Malawi Bureau of Standards has reduced fees for certification of the Small Medium Enterprises in the country by fifty percent.

This has been disclosed during the issuance of certificates certifying over one thousand manufacturers and traders in the country, as one way of promoting quality products on the both local and international market.

Speaking to MIJ Online, Bernad Thole Director General for Malawi Bureau of Standards says the move is aimed at empowering traders in the country as one way of promoting production of quality products that are meeting the local and international standards.

Thole has since said the bureau will continue inspecting manufacturers and traders to ensure they are in line with best practices.

Meanwhile – Samuel Synoden one of the awardees from Optichem 2000 Limited has hailed the Malawi Bureau of standards for increasing the inspections for both manufacturers and traders in the country.
