Truck drivers in the country have confirmed they will go ahead with their national shutdown on 31st January in push for an increased pay.
Earlier this month, the Truck Drivers Union threatened to go on strike if authorities fail to implement the agreed-upon 300-thousand-kwacha take-home pay agreement.
Instead employers had offered a 234 thousand pay, a development which did not please the professional drivers.
Now with just a week to go Major Mkandawire Chairperson for the Truck Drivers Union has told MIJ FM that employers as well as the Ministry of Labor are yet to address their concerns.
