𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐥𝐚𝐰𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐰𝐢 𝐀𝐢𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐬

The management of Malawi Airlines says it will deduct salaries for workers who will reach until a fourth day of an industrial action which starts today.

This has been said as members of staff are from today expected to hold a strike in a bid to force Management to increase their salaries.

However, even though the staff are putting down their tools, the Airlines Management has said its operations will proceed without the staff.

An internal Memo that MIJ Online has seen, has restricted all staff carrying out any actions in all company premises saying their presence will affect business negatively.

The Memo further indicates that the company will start deducting salaries from employees on strike if their strike gets into day four.

This according to the Memo, is in line with the Labour relations Amendment Act which was assented into Law by President Lazarus Chakwera recently.

This will mark the first high profile time for the effectiveness of new labour laws to be seen.

Information that is reaching us, also indicate that Malawi Airlines which is run by the Ethiopian airlines has hired new cabin crew to work in the days when the staff will be on strike.
