The Alliance for Democracy- AFORD has asked Malawi Electoral Commission -MEC to add more constituencies in Mzimba district in the constituency and ward re-demarcation exercise.
This was said when the leadership of Aford met Mec on Monday -in Lilongwe over the re-demarcation exercise.
Speaking to MIJ Online, Enock Chihana -President for AFORD said the terrain in Mzimba is very bad hence the need to add more constituencies.
Meanwhile Dr Chifundo Kachale-chairperson of Mec- said the engagement with the political parties has given the commission room to clarify on the methodologies used to come up with additional numbers of constituencies.
