Malawians are today waiting for a way forward on the 21-day ultimatum which President Lazarus Chakwera gave the Anti-Corruption Bureau-ACB to furnish his office a report on the probe of a United Kingdom based businessperson Zunneth Sattar.
On 1st June Chakwera gave the ACB the 21-day ultimatum to report to his office on investigations on Sattar- whose alleged corrupt dealings are said to have involved high-profile figures in Chakwera’s administration.
The development came after the high-profile figures were mentioned in court affidavits in UK- in a case against Sattar.
Meanwhile, the expiry of the 21-day ultimatum coincides with a national address President Chakwera is expected to make today at 6pm.
According to a press statement by Anthony Kasunda- Presidential press secretary the address will be on matters of national interest.
