Students with hearing impairment at Chiradzulu Secondary School have achieved a remarkable 98% pass rate in the Junior Certificate of Education (JCE) examinations.
This success is attributed to the Muchitadala Interpreting Program, which provides sign language interpreters in schools with support from the Deaf Care Foundation.
Speaking to MIJ Online, Mirriam Sambani, Communications Officer at Tikonze Apapa, said the achievement demonstrates that students with hearing impairment can excel with proper support.
The organization aims to expand the program to more schools, train additional interpreters, and collaborate with the government to enhance learning opportunities for children with hearing disabilities.
