CDEDI starts courting Roads Authority, today on road projects contracts

The Centre for Democracy and Economic Development Initiatives (CDEDI), has today commenced work at the Roads Authority (RA) on inspection of contracts awarded to contractors for various projects.

In February this year, the human rights advocate wrote Roads Authority to make available details on how the authority awarded contracts of nine roads projects in the country.

The road projects include, Nsanje – Marka, Jenda – Edingeni, Karonga – Songwe, Mzimba – Mzarangwe, Kapiri – Mkanda, Ntchisi – Malomo, Kenyatta drive and Tsarra street, Ntcheu – Tsangano (from Mwanza side) and Nsanama.

MIJ Online understands, from a letter signed by Francis Dimu,  Acting Chief Executive Officer, dated 15th March, 2022- that the Authority informed the activist of the availability of the queried information.

Meanwhile Sylvester Namiwa, Executive Director for CDEDI has said the public will, in due course, be notified the outcome of the exercise.
