MCP president, Lazarus Chakwera, has penned electoral body MEC on legal costs the party incurred during the hearing of the elections case.
This is in line with a directive by the constitutional court which mandated the commission to reimburse legal bills incurred by victors of the case – Chakwera of MCP and Chilima of UTM.
Speaking to MIJ FM, MCP lawyer – Titus Mvalo confirmed the development but could not disclose the actual amount to be settled.
However, Khumbo Soko, lawyer for UTM has said MEC is yet to respond to a legal bill the party sent to MEC.
