The Lilongwe Chief Resident Magistrate court has set 23rd November 2021 as a day it will deliver its ruling on whether or not it should dismiss charges being levelled against Newton Kambala – the Former Minister of Energy and his two accomplices.
Kambala, and the two others Chris Chaima Banda former Advisor to President Lazarus Chakwera and Enoch Chihana-AFORD’s President, are being accused of interfering with awarding of fuel contracts, following complaints to the ACB by Hellen Buluma, the NOCMA’s Acting Chief Executive Officer.
The three had therefore applied to the court to have their case dismissed, citing the lack of consistency on the charges being levelled against them.
This followed the amendment of the charges by the ACB.
