The Ministry of Health has pledged to improve access to healthcare nationwide, addressing the ongoing challenges faced by Malawians, particularly in rural areas.
The ministry made the commitment at the official opening of Nafuse Health Center in Mchinji as Malawians, particularly those in rural areas, continue to face challenges in accessing healthcare services due to long distances and a shortage of healthcare providers as well as medicines.
n an interview with MIJ Online, Halima Daudi, Deputy Minister of Health said that the ministry is working to enhance healthcare quality through increased investments in medical facilities, the training of healthcare workers, and the expansion of outreach programs.
Daudi also noted the critical role that international organizations, especially non-profits, play in supporting sustainable development efforts in the country.
Meanwhile, Yohane Mwale, Director of Health Services in Mchinji, said that increasing investment in healthcare services is crucial to addressing the challenges people face in accessing care in local communities.
