Hunger fight in Malawi requires action, says CARE

A call has gone out to the government on the need to prioritize a National Resilience Strategy, arguing that it is key to be proactive in the face of disaster.

Kuwali: We need more efforts.

This comes as the recent spike in humanitarian crises, coupled with the persistent issue of hunger in Malawi has pushed the situation to a critical point.

Speaking to MIJ Online Pamela Kuwali, Country Director for CARE in Malawi, stressed the urgent need for investment in disaster preventive measures before the situation worsens.

According to Kuwali there is a need to take action now to ensure the resilience of the country in the face of future disasters.

Kuwali added that the implementation of a National Resilience Strategy is not just a lofty goal but is a lifeline for those in need, particularly women and girls.
