Energy generator Egenco has disclosed that the country has received energy experts from World Bank to assist in the rehabilitation of Kapichira Dam.
Kapichira Dam, which suffered damage from Tropical Storm Ana induced floods on January 24 this year, contributes about 129 megawatts to the national grid.
Last month Egenco through the Ministry of Finance has secured $60 million (about K61 billion) funding from the World Bank for the rehabilitation of Kapichira Dam.
In an interview with MIJ Online, Moses Gwaza, Egenco spokesperson said the power generator has been given a go ahead to start using the funds.
He also disclosed that the country has received Energy experts from World Bank and dam experts from Korea who will help in the rehabilitation of the Kapichira dam.
