IPTE teachers pen Chakwera on recruitment disparities

Primary school teachers under IPTE 14 have sought the intervention of President Lazarus Chakwera on the recruitment criteria of teachers by the local government service commission.

Asked to address teachers woes.

The development comes at a time when a recent notice recruiting opportunities for teachers from IPTE 13 program in all district councils.

However, in a letter addressed to the president and copied to the local government service commission, teachers under IPTE 14 have questioned the motive behind the recruitment.

They argue the teachers have similar qualifications as teachers under IPTE 13.

Speaking to MIJ Online, Rodney Sinyenga, spokesperson of the concerned teachers said they want President Chakwera to direct that all qualified teachers whether under IPTE 13 or 14 go for interviews set for December, 20th to 23rd.
