Malawi Electoral Commission says Attorney General Kalekeni Kaphale will no longer represent the electoral body in the presidential appeal case.
This follows an observation by the Constitutional Court that Kaphele was being in contempt of court by representing Mec in the election case.
Director of legal affairs at MEC, David Matumuka Banda- has confirmed that with MIJ Radio that Kaphale will no longer represent Mec.
Banda said Tamando Chokhotho of Churchill and Norris Law Firm will continue representing the commission.
The Commision was in the order for a fresh election admonished for overseeing a poll the court described as unfair.
The Commision and another respondent Peter Mutharika are however challenging the ruling.
